June at Hinnies ☀️

What a month it`s been.

We`ve welcomed a brand-new menu packed with delicious seasonal dishes, poured plenty of alfresco drinks in the sunshine, and watched countless walkers stop by after exploring our beautiful coastline.

From leisurely lunches overlooking the sea to evening catch-ups with friends and family, it`s been fantastic to see so many of you enjoying everything June had to offer.

As we head into summer, we`re looking forward to more great food, refreshing drinks and seaside memories.

After Andy’s 10-year anniversary video sparked a debate around the pronunciation of “Hinnies”, we knew we had to investigate!

Andy spoke with born and bred Geordie Michael and Scarlett, a Phonology student from Newcastle University, to explore the Geordie dialect, how it’s developed, why we pronounce words the way we do, and the stories behind the sounds we use every day.
